The\nDemocratic Party (DP) president has urged the opposition to wake up and get\ndifferent methods to break up Museveni\u2019s system if they are to take up the\nleadership of this country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While\naddressing the media in Kampala on Tuesday, Mao said there is no point for\nopposition to attack each other especially on social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I\ncall upon all the other political actors stop attacking each other, I am not a\npresident of Uganda, attacking Mao doesn’t take you to state house. I am also\nsweating in the field. I am looking for the ball and the man with the ball is\nwell known so I call for a cease fire,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mao\nsaid Ugandans have been struggling for so long and lessons should be learnt from\nthis that the struggle to liberate the country is for all Ugandans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

”\nNo leader or group should try to think that Ugandan people’s struggle is his\nstruggle or the struggle of his group. As long as we have that mentality. We\nwill always have a problem,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mao\nalso disagreed with the FDC proposal to have a mediator guide all the\nopposition forces on how to get on a joint candidate against Museveni in 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nsaid that in 2016 elections under the democratic alliance (TDA), they had\nmediator including Kofi Annan, one of the most world’s international Statesmen\nbut still failed to agree on who should be the flag bearer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Mao also condemned the Police brutality that\nwas unleashed against People Power group and their leader. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mao\nsaid police is looking at the public order management act as a law to prohibit\nthe public gathering yet it is well stipulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nnoted that this is the season for the People Power group to reflect on how to\nbeat the system with different tactics in which fairness should be exhibited in\nall sides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
