The UPDF recruitment team 3 leader covering northern region Col. Stephen Ebulu has cautioned\u00a0 youth from Northern Uganda seeking to join the UPDF to refrain from all forms of corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is important to preach corruption in every gathering including those who want to join service of the people so that they understand and stay away from it, since it doesn\u2019t develop the nation but rather personality,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ebulu stressed that\u00a0 when it comes to recruitment in the UPDF, youth must be well acquainted\u00a0 that there is no room for corruption in the force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further noted\u00a0 that patriots are those who are selfless and can sacrifice for others not vice versa\u00a0and this is what a recruit of the UPDF must begin to train on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It\u00a0 is totally different from the military principles because soldiers don\u2019t work for personal gain the but the public,” Ebulu emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He told the recruits that there is no payment of money in order to join the force\u00a0 and that anyone found doing it will be punished according to the law.
He also advised those who did not qualify to go back to school and live a responsible life to remain focused if they are to achieve their dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 1000 prospective candidates turned up to compete for the sixty one slots meant for the four districts of Gulu, Amuru, Omoro and Nwoya at pace stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
