The\nNational Co-coordinator of the Alliance for National Transformation who is also\nthe former FDC party President, Maj. Gen Mugisha Muntu has applauded the FDC\nparty for demonstrating true democratic principles over the past years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His\nremarks came as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party reached 15 years of\nexistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“As\nit stands for 15years, there has been a competition 5 times, 3 for the party\npresidency, 2 for the party flag bearer which were held internally,” he\nsaid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nnoted that this kind of initiative has help FDC to build democratic practice\nwithin its self which is a good gesture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muntu\nurged the leadership of FDC to sustain all its achievements and also marked\nitself around that big win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I\nam glad that within the foundation of FDC what we need is for the country to\nsee to see the achievements,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nnarrated that in 2009, he competed with Dr. Kizza Besigye and lost but that\ndidn’t stop him from supporting him and the same thing also happened in 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“2012\nwe competed, we were three candidates that is when I won, 2015 we competed with\nDr. Kizza Besigye for the flag bearer,\nhe won. I threw the party behind him fully in 2016, in 2017 we competed with\nHon. Patrick Oboi he won and I congratulated him and handed over power\npeacefully,” he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nthe issues of the recent cabinet reshuffle, Muntu said there is nothing new\nthat the new cabinet can offer in terms of fighting the increasing graft in the\ncountry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The\ndepth of corruption, even if Mr Museveni brings the new minister, what changes will\nthey bring? what will the new cabinet offer in terms of fighting corruption,\u201d he\nqueried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid if corruption is to be fought in the country, then the system should be\nreworked fundamentally for any change to take effect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
