The Head of the Anti-Corruption Unit in State House,\nLt. Col. Edith Nakalema, has strongly urged churches and all other religious\ndenominations in Uganda to join the fight against corruption saying the vice is\na moral issue that can best be fought in places of worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe right army is the church in the fight against corruption.\nGet your weapons and fight the vice. Pray without ceasing so as to declare corruption\nand its perpetrators defeated,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema was today giving her moving\ntestimony at the Prayer Conference 2019, organized by Apostle Michael Kimuli in\nconjunction with the Christian Discipleship Ministries International at Kampala\nParents\u2019 School in Kololo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 5-day Prayer Conference that ended today attracted pastors from Finland, the United Kingdom, Germany, USA, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Gabon and Uganda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference was organized to pray for peace and prosperity in Uganda, for the Church, other nations and to plan for Evangelism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Giving her testimony that dwelt on how God saw her and her family rise from glory to glory right from her childhood, education and employment where she held high profile positions in government by the grace of God, Lt. Col. Nakalema urged members of the congregation and all the people of Uganda to serve in whatever position they are assigned for the glory of God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She further asked Ugandans to remain faithful to God if they want to succeed in life and not to yearn for earthly things that they cannot get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGod can take you from glory to glory if you remain\nfaithful. When you serve God, He will give you everything you need in life,\u201d\nshe said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On her current assignment as Head of the Anti\nCorruption Unit in State House, Lt. Col. Nakalema said she is not afraid of all\nthe dangerous plots against her because she is strongly protected by the power\nof God adding that she is carrying out the duties assigned to her by the\nPresident for the glory of God and the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am protected by my God. He keeps us from the\ndangerous plots,\u201d she told the congregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt. Col. Nakalema who further electrified the\ncongregation by leading in singing a song \u2018What a Mighty God we Serve and the\none in Kiswahili Nimepata Yesu\u2019, commended the media for the coverage of her\noperations despite their earlier negativity when she was a Personal Assistant\nto the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI thank the media for their coverage. When I was\nthe Personal Assistant to His Excellency, the media used to be my enemy. But\nnow they are praising me for exposing the corrupt in the country. I am feeling\ngood because I am in the right calling,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also thanked Apostle Michael Kimuli for giving\nher the opportunity to recruit an army from the church that will join her in\nthe war against corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apostle Michael Kimuli, on his part, said the testimony by Lt. Col. Nakalema had deeply touched all members of the congregation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He pledged to join the war against corruption in Uganda. The visiting pastors from overseas and the ones in the country later prayed to God to give Lt. Col.
