The\nstate minister for water, Ronald Kibuule has pledged to improve access to clean\nand safe water across different parts of the country as he embarks on new term\nin the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nmade the remarks while commissioning a water well in Mukono district\nconstructed by the Chinese for vulnerable communities over the weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid that population in this area of Mukono is growing each day and the area also\nhas over 15 factories leading to the shortage of clean and safe water for\nlocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It\nis a vote of confidence that I have delivered and I can only promise that since\nNRM has a mandate, we have 23-point programmes for this Kisanja Akuna Muchezo\nand water is one of them. I believe in my sector and we have put a\ndemonstration of irrigation, dams both big and small, micro and macro,\u201d he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid the idea of improving on clean and safe water in different parts of the country\nis to reduce the risk of contracting diseases associated with water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nurged the community to maintain and protect the well from all short of\ncontamination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I\nthank the investors particularly for this initiative and they will continue\ndoing more as part of their social corporate responsibility in Uganda, water\nand sanitation reduces on the health burden, the threat for our lives,\u201d he\nnoted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kibuule\nalso applauded president Museveni for reappointing him as the state minister\nfor water in the Saturday cabinet reshuffle that saw some ministers exit their\ncabinet positions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The beneficiaries of the well applauded the Chinese for constructing water well project in the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Residents\nalso urged the Chinese to keep up with such projects because they help to\nimprove the livelihood of the locals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
