The\nUPDF Chief of Defence Forces, Gen David Muhoozi has called for the joint commitment to preserve the\nachievements of the country\u2019s security agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nremarks were made in a speech read for him by Maj Gen Sam Kiwanuka at this\nyear\u2019s edition of the CDF cup at Masaka recreation grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gen\nMuhoozi said that Uganda People\u2019s Defence forces has relied on its discipline\nto build a professional army that respects civilians and has an eye for\ndevelopment at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid discipline and physical fitness are great allies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Discipline\nis crucial within the UPDF doctrine for one to have the expected results,”\nhe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid a physically fit mind generates results that can be tapped into Socio\neconomic transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nexpressed his gratitude for the good relationship between the force and\ncivilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nfurther encouraged participants to look at sports as a business that can be\nexplored by enhancing remarkable cooperation amongst units and formations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nUPDF chief of education, sports and culture and commander of the 2nd infantry\ndivision Brig. Gen Francis Takirwa commended the local community for embracing\nthe function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nthanked the UPDF leadership for supporting all preparations that culminated\ninto the 12 editions of the CDF cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\ntold the gathering that the CDF football cup Tournament is rotational in nature\nand mainly aimed at promoting civil military cooperation, physical fitness and\nrespect among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
