The Democratic Party(DP) has responded to the recent remarks made by the deputy government spokesperson col. Shaban Bantariza who threatened that they will rather go back to the bush than handing over power to opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week Bantariza threatened that the ruling party cannot hand over power to opposition more especially people power Movement led by Bobi wine saying that even if it is means going back to the bush they are ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the media at the party headquarters on Tuesday ,the DP president\u2019s press secretary Fred Mwesigwa strongly condemned Bantariza\u2019s statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Ugandans are not threatened any more by mentioning the word guns because since independence there is no peaceful transfer of power in this country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“He does not own this country Uganda has seen guns since independence even those that were chased away were speaking like that .Remember Sadam also said such words that he had guns and missiles to hit Americans.How many American did he hit,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He cautioned Bantariza stop making such comments because he is not the first person to handle guns in the country therefore he should watch out his tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called upon Bantariza to learn from the past powerful people who had guns and almost everything but they are no more in this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Even Amin had guns.guns are not made here in Uganda .they are made somewhere else ,as Dp we have been hurt by the words of Bantariza .He should apologise to Ugandans,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called upon Bantariza to appologise to Ugandans with immediate effect for making such awful remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Bantariza and his people who think like him are not the first to handle guns .Gadaffi had the best military in Africa where is he now? He should apologize to Ugandans,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called for the removal of Bantariza from the media centre as the deputy government spokesperson noting he is not fit to be in that office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The way you are talking ,you are not fit to speak for government .president Museveni and NRM should know that man is not fit for the deputy of media centre,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also advised Bantariza to get his guns and come to the city square and face up with Ugandans since he wants to fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“If you are a man come with you guns at the city square, Ugandans have seen very many guns more bigger than these ones since independence,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
