The\npatron of People Power Movement Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine,\nhas prophesied that Ugandans unlike in the past elections will rise up if president\nMuseveni tries to rig 2021 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While\nspeaking to Al Jazeera on Saturday, Kyagulanyi accused president Museveni of\nplotting to rig the elections as he did it in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We\nknow that Museveni is planning to rig the elections as he has done it in the\npast \u2026 But we are banking on overwhelming him because a vote can easily be\nrigged if it\u2019s not overwhelming,\u201d Bobi Wine said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nhowever stressed that he does not believe in violence and will continue to use\nall legitimate and legal ways of defending people’s voice but if president\nMuseveni tries to tamper with people\u2019s votes, he will see the true colour of\nUgandans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\ndid not say people may rise up. I said people will rise up to claim their\ncountry if President Museveni stops us from participating or rigs the\nelection,\u201d He said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kyagulanyi\nsaid the winds of change are sweeping the Continent and that, he expects them in\nUganda come 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“And\nultimately, if president Museveni tries to rig the election, the people of\nUganda will rise up and they will stop it. They are tired of this oppression;\nthey are tired and they will not take it any longer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nalso revealed that opposition is in its advanced stages of reaching consensus\nto front a joint candidate ahead of the crucial polls in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid Ugandans need to do a lot of things to make Uganda a better country by putting\nan end to corruption, dictatorship, cleaning the health system and education\nsystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\nwant the voice of the people to surpass the voice of the guns. We want to put\nan end to dictatorship and install civilian authority. We want to revive the\neducation system and awaken the healthcare system,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid people of Uganda should be united since they have been divided along ethnic\nlines, religion among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\nwant to return the rule of law and dignity to the people of Uganda. We want to\nunite our people that have been divided along ethnic lines, social class,\npolitical party lines. We want to create an environment where Ugandans in\nAmerica, Europe, etc feel blessed to return and rebuild their country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bobi\nWine vowed to continue the struggle for freedom in Uganda despite state\nrestrictions and intimidation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nurged the youth to stand up for what they believe in and never to give up until\nthe battle is won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAm\ngoing to continue the fight for freedom and it is the fight we must either win\nor die trying,\u201d Bobi Wine told Aljazeera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We\nhave been denied an opportunity to contribute to our country. We have been\nexcluded as a new generation and we desire to contribute to building our\ncountry, which we know we are going to live in.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
