{"id":12407,"date":"2019-11-25T14:39:50","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:39:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=12407"},"modified":"2019-11-25T14:42:02","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:42:02","slug":"ntv-journalist-explains-how-he-survived-death-from-panga-wielding-thugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/11\/25\/ntv-journalist-explains-how-he-survived-death-from-panga-wielding-thugs\/","title":{"rendered":"NTV Journalist Explains How He Survived Death From Panga Wielding Thugs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The\nFormer presenter of radio Simba, Kyeyune Ivan also the voice and the brain\nbehind NTV\u2019s Zungulu which is aired every Friday, narrowly survived death after\nbeing attacked by unknown thugs over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr\nKyeyune who was heading to Namugongo in Wakiso District where he resides got a\nboda boda from Tuskys Supermarket in Ntinda, Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On\nhis way back home, he was attacked by unknown Panga wielding men, the thugs\ntried to cut his hand as another tried to cut him from the head but the panga\ngot his hand nearly cutting it off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kyeyune\nis currently out of danger and was discharged from the hospital on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\ntold The Daily Monitor that on the fateful day, he boarded a random boda boda\nmotorcycle after his car developed a mechanical problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\nsurvived narrowly. On Friday night, it rained a lot. My car had a problem so I\nrequested for an Uber and all cars were cancelling but I think it is because\nthe network was overwhelmed. After waiting for an hour,&#8221; he narrated <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nadded: &#8220;I decided to just take a boda boda because I thought it could rain\nuntil morning,&#8221; Mr Kyeyune said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hardly\ndid he know that the cyclist he picked would turn out to be one of his\nassailants,&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nsaid upon reaching the Ntinda Y-junction, the motorcyclist decided to take the\nKyambogo route instead of Kiwatule road which had less traffic jam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2.jpg 720w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2-315x420.jpg 315w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2-630x840.jpg 630w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2-640x853.jpg 640w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Ivan-Kyeyune2-681x908.jpg 681w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>No\nsooner had they joined the route than he noticed another motorcycle carrying\ntwo other passengers coming from the opposite direction that&#8217;s when he sensed\ndanger <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nsaid after sensing danger, he jumped off the motorcycle, one of the passengers\non the other motorcycle also jumped off with a panga in his hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nexplained that the guy ran towards him and directed the machete at his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nattempt to protect himself more especially the head, that\u2019s when he raised his\nleft hand which was cut.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Former presenter of radio Simba, Kyeyune Ivan also the voice and the brain behind NTV\u2019s Zungulu which is aired every Friday, narrowly survived death after being attacked by unknown thugs over the weekend.
