State\nMinister of finance for planning David Bahati has cautioned the public against\nendorsing a petition spearheaded by the opposition under People’s Government\nrequiring 2 million signatures to take President Museveni to the international Criminal\nCourt (ICC) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
His\ncomments came shortly after the Opposition under People\u2019s Government threatened\nto take President Museveni and others to the International Criminal Court in\nthe Hague, for what they call gross violations of human rights and committing\ncrimes against humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Besigye\nand his fellow petitioners have lost the hope of defeating Museveni and they\nare now focusing on how to taint the President\u2019s image with their\npetition,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid there are selfish politicians who are trying to use and mislead the\ncountry by deceiving the citizens for their own selfish gains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nurged Ugandans to refrain from such politicians and put all their effort in\ndeveloping the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDo\nnot be fooled by people who are fighting their own selfish battles. These\npetitioners are likely to come to you seeking your signatures in various ways\nbut please avoid them,\u201d Bahati said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid that the opposition is mainly focusing on destabilising the peace that NRM\nGovernment under Museveni has brought in place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
