Residents\nof Makindye Division turned rowdy over the weekend after promises of cash handouts\nfrom Presidential adviser Catherine Kusasira did not materialise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These\ngroups of youth who converged at St Agnes church Makindye were expecting\nCatherine Kusasira to be the chief guest at a function where they hoped to\nreceive cash handouts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nlocals who had waited patiently later turned rowdy after receiving information\nthat Kusasira was not aware of the meeting that was organised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\nare just playing political games with us because they lied to us, we are not happy,\nthey are looking for our votes, why have they registered us if they were not\ngoing to give us money?\u201d one of the youth asked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Business\ncame to a standstill for nearly two hours as people demanded an explanation\nfrom the organisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However,\nsome youth called upon Kusasira to quickly come out and clear her name with\nimmediate effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKusasira\nshould come out and clear her name, these people registered like 180 people to\nreceive money they are playing around with us, we are annoyed,\u201d another youth\nadded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking\nto Kusasira, she distanced herself from the organisers of the meeting referring\nto them as conmen who only used her name to defraud the youths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\ndidn\u2019t promise people money, that person who has been mobilising people; I\ndon\u2019t really know him and never seen him before,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
