The\nministry of health has called on the population to disregard deliberately\norchestrated information circulated on social media targeted at failing the\nmass vaccination scheduled to begin today 16th for children aged 15 years and\nbelow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing\nthe masses in Mayuge District during the vaccination of children, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng\nrefuted the allegations that the Measles-Rubella vaccine can cause autism to\nthe children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\nassured the people that the vaccines are well tested and proved by the World\nHealth Organisation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe\nvaccines are effective, they are approved by the World Health Organisation and\nwe don\u2019t expect any child to have any challenges or side effects,” she\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nvaccination of pupils in Mayuge district on Tuesday marked the launch of the\nmass exercise against Measles and Rubella beginning today for all children age\n15 and below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr\nAceng strongly advised the public to take the exercise seriously and take their\nchildren for immunisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\nam appealing to you that even before RDCs reach you with the law bring your\nchildren for vaccination. We love your children that\u2019s is why we are providing\nthe vaccines free of charge,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\nnoted that the false information spread online about the vaccination alleging that\nit will cause autism to children is not true. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRubella\nis German measles, it appears just like measles and when you get Rubella you\nwill get a child who is abnormal, your child will become deaf, your child will\nbe blind,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nundertaking is as a result of the recent outbreak of Measles and Rubella in\nover 60 districts in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 18 million children in different schools are expected to be vaccinated during this exercises which is scheduled to last for five days from today 16th\u00a0 to\u00a0 20th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
