Owners\nof Paradise Cafe on Park View arcade along Kampala’s Button street are counting\nlosses after fire gutted their premises on Sunday Morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fire\nthe gutted Park View Shopping Centre in Kampala and destroyed a restaurant that\noperates in the complex leaving most of the property unrecognised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some\nof the vendors who were around went to the power room and switched of\nelectricity until fire brigade came in and put out the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However,\nall the restaurants around the premises were not affected since the fire was\nput out before it spread to other shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\ntook sometimes for fire brigade to access park view Shopping Centre due to the\nongoing construction that is taking place in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police\nspokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire, told journalists that the cause of the fire is\nyet to be established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nhowever said t investigations are ongoing to identify the exact cause of the\nfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“But\nwe suspect that it could have been a stove that was left on or an issue to do\nwith electricity but all that of course will come out and be proved with a\nreport later on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According\nto eyewitnesses, Police\u2019s attempts to extinguish the fire were initially\nunsuccessful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
