{"id":11397,"date":"2019-09-23T10:16:25","date_gmt":"2019-09-23T07:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=11397"},"modified":"2019-09-23T10:24:15","modified_gmt":"2019-09-23T07:24:15","slug":"museveni-meets-updf-honchos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/09\/23\/museveni-meets-updf-honchos\/","title":{"rendered":"Museveni Meets UPDF Honchos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President Yoweri Museveni and\nCommander-in-Chief of the Uganda People\u2019s Defence Forces (UPDF) today chaired a\nmeeting of the Defence Forces Council, the Supreme decision making-body of the\nUPDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting that took place yesterday at State House, Entebbe\ndeliberated on the current security situation in the country and expressed its\nsatisfaction with the prevailing peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting noted the need for the UPDF to continue supporting\nother agencies when called upon, during the fight against criminality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council also received and endorsed reports on plans to\nimprove the welfare of soldiers as well as the standardization of the UPDF\ndress code that is gazzetted for the exclusive use by Officers and militants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two Officer Cadets, Ignatius Taremwa and Teddy Namyalo, who\nrecently completed training abroad, were commissioned at a ceremony during the\nCouncil\u2019s deliberations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was part of the Commander-in-Chief\u2019s regular\nconsultations with the Defence Forces Council and the High Command. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council meeting was preceded by the High Command meeting\nthat took place earlier at State House Entebbe under the Chairmanship of the\nPresident.\n\nThe Defence Forces\u2019 Council comprises members of the High Command,\nDirectors of Service and Commanding Officers of Brigades and Battalions\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Yoweri Museveni and Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda People\u2019s Defence Forces (UPDF) today chaired a meeting of the Defence Forces Council, the Supreme decision making-body of the UPDF.
