The\nSpeaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has commended Members of Parliament and\nthe public for their concern, prayers and good wishes while she was unwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kadaga\nmade these remarks while sharing testimony about her healing during\nthanksgiving prayers held at Parliament, on Wednesday, 18 September 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJust\nbefore I fell ill, I was following up on the bridge near the Isimba Hydropower\nstation, whose funds of shs24 billion had disappeared; and the Chinese company\nworking on the bridge sought my help to restore their frozen bank accounts,\u201d\nshe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kadaga\nadded that even while she had been admitted in hospital, she kept contemplating\non the progress of the road and the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\ntalked to God and asked him to help me with his mission. I have done a lot of\nwork in communities, supporting churches; so God listened to my prayers and\nhere I am,\u201d Kadaga told the congregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\nMarch 2019, Kadaga was taken ill and had to be flown to the Aga Khan Hospital\nin Nairobi, Kenya for further treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\nhis remarks, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah, said that the\nGod gave the Speaker healing from her illness because her purpose on earth was\nnot yet completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf\nyour purpose was done on this earth, you would be in heaven rejoicing with your\nsavior. Since you are here with us, identify that purpose and fulfill it and\ndon\u2019t betray it,\u201d said Oulanyah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nthanksgiving prayer was graced by various religious leaders from Uganda\u2019s\ndifferent religious sects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nDeputy Mufti, Sheik Ali Waiswa, told the congregation that putting one\u2019s trust\nin God was the most important aspect in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery\nact done however insignificant, will return with double impact. If you do good,\nit will be paid with good and if you do evil, it will be paid with evil. Love\nothers and love will come back to you,\u201d Sheik Waiswa said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Retired\nBishop of North Kigezi, Rev. Dr. Edward Muhima, said that God\u2019s healing of the\nSpeaker deserved praise, and sang a famous Christian theme to that effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\ncan I offer the Lord for all that he has done for me? I will lift up a cup of\nsalvation symbolizing his salvation and I will praise the Lord\u2019s name for\nsaving me and I\u2019ll keep my promises in the presence of all these people,\u201d sang\nRev. Muhima. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nthanksgiving prayers also attracted Members of Parliament, senior judicial\nofficials, the diplomatic corps and cabinet members among other members of the\npublic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
