{"id":11149,"date":"2019-09-03T14:04:51","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T11:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=11149"},"modified":"2019-09-03T14:04:54","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T11:04:54","slug":"parliament-spends-over-37-billion-to-procure-150-new-cars-ahead-of-the-commonwealth-parliamentary-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/09\/03\/parliament-spends-over-37-billion-to-procure-150-new-cars-ahead-of-the-commonwealth-parliamentary-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Parliament Spends Over 37 Billion to Procure 150 New Cars Ahead of The Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All preparations to host the 64<sup>th<\/sup> Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference scheduled for 22&nbsp;to 29<sup> <\/sup>of this month at Munyonyo\nCommonwealth Resort Hotel have been finalized by Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parliament has already procured more than 100 brand new vehicles that will\nbe used in the transportation of the over 54 speakers of different parliaments\nexpected to attend the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The type of\nvehicles that have been procured include 50 Land Cruisers that will be used by\nthe VIP\u2019s, 50 Coaster Vans and 50 pickups that will be used by the security\nofficers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Director\nof Communications and Public Affairs at Parliament, Chris Obore said that all\nthe due processes were followed to procure these vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Obore however\nrefused to disclose the exact amount of money spent on all the new vehicles\narguing that the exact figure will be released\nafter the\nspecialised vehicles for the people with disability have arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the\nsecond time Uganda will be hosting the commonwealth Parliamentary conference\nthe first being in 1967.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All preparations to host the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference scheduled for 22&nbsp;to 29 of this month at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel have been finalized by Parliament.
