{"id":11022,"date":"2019-08-27T17:46:41","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T14:46:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=11022"},"modified":"2019-08-27T17:46:49","modified_gmt":"2019-08-27T14:46:49","slug":"museveni-in-japan-for-3-day-ticad-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/08\/27\/museveni-in-japan-for-3-day-ticad-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Museveni in Japan for 3-day TICAD Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Yoweri Museveni has today arrived in the\nJapanese seaside city of Yokohama where he joins other world leaders to attend\nthe Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) that kicks of\ntomorrow Wednesday 28<sup>th<\/sup> August 2019 at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President was received at Haneda\/Narita International\nAirport by the Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs\nof Japan Hisanobu Hasama, Uganda\u2019s Minister of State for Works Gen.\nEdward&nbsp;Katumba&nbsp;Wamala, Patrick Mugoya the\nPermanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Uganda\u2019s Ambassador to\nJapan, Betty Aketch Okullo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s conference is being held under the theme <em>\u201cAfrica and Yokohama, Sharing Passion for\nthe future\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Conference is hosted by the Japanese Government and\nis co-sponsored by the United Nations, the United Nations Development programme\n(UNDP), the Africa Union Commission and the World Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President will tomorrow address the plenary on the\ntopic, \u201cAccelerating Economic Transformation and Improving Business Environment\nthrough Innovation and Private Sector Engagement\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Yoweri Museveni has today arrived in the Japanese seaside city of Yokohama where he joins other world leaders to attend the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) that kicks of tomorrow Wednesday 28th August 2019 at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Centre.
