Moreover, I feel privileged for the time I spend with my boyfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, during these 5 years, we\u2019ve had our downs (like any couple has).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From everyday inconveniences to serious health conditions, we\u2019ve overcome a lot of difficult moments and became stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are six secrets my boyfriend and I have discovered through the course of our relationship that have helped us have a healthy relationship and&nbsp;remain emotionally strong and connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Remember that honesty is always the best policy.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being honest with your partner is a crucial part of any successful relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A big part of this is talking to your partner and being open about the difficulties that you\u2019re facing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must let each other know how things are impacting you since it\u2019s nothing to be ashamed about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Don\u2019t feel ashamed to become emotional.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t feel ashamed to display emotions about the on-goings of your lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, we view emotions such as&nbsp;crying and being upset&nbsp;as a form of weakness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is particularly true for men, who fear that it will emasculate them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, it can really help you process certain events&nbsp;and you may feel better about things by venting to your partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Work as a team to keep your relationship strong.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Work together to maintain your relationship on an emotional, spiritual, and mental level, not just physical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Relationships should definitely not be focused on just one aspect of these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, it should be a combination of different spheres that make up your relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It shouldn\u2019t be just about sex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
