The\nState Minister for Ethics and Integrity, Father Simon Lokodo has threatened to\nopen up more charges against Dr Stella Nyanzi for undressing in court and\nembarrassing mothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe\nverdict came on her because of her behaviour and she should have accepted it\nand taken it because of her actions; now I am going to have a case against her,\u201d\nhe noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
His\ncomments came hours after Dr. Stella Nyanzi was sentenced to 18 months in\nprison on charges of cyber harassment in which she had been accused of\ninsulting the president and his late mother Esteri Kokundeka on social media\nlast year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr\nNyanzi appeared in the court via video conference and caused commotion by\nundressing, pouring water on the prison officers and breaking the video link. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Father\nLokodo made the remarks while speaking to the media during the closure of a three\nweek long training for CID officers at the CID headquarters in Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Father\nSimon Lokodo noted that Dr Nyanzi\u2019s actions of undressing before the public has\nembarrassed the nation and such acts are unacceptable therefore, he intends to\ntake legal actions against her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\nis Very unacceptable and irresponsible and embarrassing for mother of more than\ntwo behaving like that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over\n300 officers had camped at Kibuli for training in the new trend of corruption,\nemergency saver crime trends, money laundering, terrorism, human and drug\ntrafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grace\nAkullo the director CID noted that the intensive training will help to guide and\nbuild the capacity of officers to fight corruption in community and the country\nat large. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs\nyou investigate a case, you don\u2019t need to torture for example when you over\ndetain as per the laws. Over detaining beyond 48 hours as you are handling\ncorruption cases is a form of torture,\u201d she noted <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\nsaid that some officers from the human right commission were invited to give\nthe officers an overview of those acts and to guard against the abuse of human\nrights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
