Kyadondo\nEast Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi well known as Bobi Wine has accused\ncourts of protecting criminals such as, the corrupt, murderers and land\ngrabbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nmade the remarks following the conviction of the Makerere university Research\nfellow, Dr Stella Nyanzi who was on Friday sentenced to 18months in prison\nafter being convicted of cyber harassment in connection to harassing president\nMuseveni and insulting his late mother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe\nsame courts that have protected the corrupt, shielded murderers and defended\nthe land grabbers are now castigating the poet for being immoral,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through\nhis social media platform, Bobi Wine noted that If Dr Stella Nyanzi was a high-ranking\nPolice officer accused of torturing a citizen, by now she would be out of cells\nhaving a good time with her children and she would have not spent even on day\nin jail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\nand me know very well that if Stella was president Museveni’s minister accused\nof receiving a bribe, she would be off the hook in no minute,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nstated that there is nothing immoral for a woman who uses hard words to speak\nthe truth than a minister who steals money meant for babies suffering from\nMalaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nurged the public to stand up in solidarity with Dr Nyanzi and make sure that\neach one does what he or she can to redeem the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nfurther elaborated that issues related to Dr Stella Nyanzi must be critically\ninternalised in their full context because the argument of morality is only an\nexcuse for persecuting courageous women who have dared speak out against an\nevil despot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\ngives us hope is that the force of evil however dark never win in the end, God\nbeing our help, we shall certainly overcome,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nnoted that Dr Stella Nyanzi showed her courage by exhibiting in all the trials\nand tribulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
