Democratic Party President Nobert Mao has said that the People Power movement led by Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kaygulanyi alias Bobi Wine has come to bring a transition in the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn opposition also we want to make a transition from somebody else to somebody else and the DP bloc has been vocal about the need for that process to take place,\u201d Mao said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing the media at the party weekly briefing yesterday, Mao said that there is a need for transition in opposition from one leader to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe fact that People Power is an umbrella for all Ugandans, it is non negotiable that is the point and people who want to belong to it are many,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) think that the opposition side is too disorganised and has no chance at leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe know that is why People Power has come in, to ensure that there is a transition in the opposition, NRM has failed to have any transition from Museveni to someone else,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also added that the struggle to liberate Uganda is not a struggle for an individual but a struggle for all Ugandans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am the president of Democratic Party number 6, and tomorrow there will be also transition from Nobert Mao to someone else. Must that be a matter of life and death?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also noted that the relationship between DP and People Power is unbreakable in regards to all news via social media indicating and carrying messages that there is misunderstanding between the two political organisations that was sparked off when DP Members appeared on Bobi Wine\u2019s coordinators list last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mao trashed all the claims indicating there is no misunderstanding between him and Bobi Wine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that DP is ready to work with anybody as long as they have the same agenda of dislodging the sitting government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI want to assure you. I am not angry at all, I had a long conversation with Hon Kyagulanyi and we are going to continue because our points are valid, we want to build People Power into a Special Purpose Vehicle, \u201che said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mao noted that the confusion in the opposition segment is created by the ruling party intended to divert the united force in the opposition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese are Museveni\u2019s agents who want to create confusion,\u201c he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mao also commented on the recently tabled electoral reforms, noting that the reforms will not deliver meaningful free and fair elections rather intended to entrench the sitting regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey are merely aimed at entrenching the Museveni regime, they are about making the same thing favorable to Museveni,\u201d he said.
