The spokesperson of the Uganda police Force, Fred Enanga said that the force intends to recruit over 5000 police officers in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made the remarks while addressing journalists at the police headquarters in Naguru on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also said that 25 recruitment teams will be flagged off by the Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola and the process will last one week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe shall start with 25 recruitment teams this week on a seven day country wide recruitment drive for 4,500 District Police Commanders (DPCs) and 500 Assistant Inspectors of\u00a0 Police (ASPs),\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recruitment will commenced on Monday 29th July to 4th of August and will cover all districts in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the entire process is based on the need of the institution which is identified through the staffing analysis that comes from Human resource development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cQuality services delivery is directly linked to the quality of personnel who are recruited, therefore the process of attracting potential recruits is going to be thorough, rigorous and complex,” Enanga said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further noted that the exercise is\u00a0in line with the Force\u2019s vision to provide a Police Porce that is enlightened and motivated and one which is geared towards policing crime in the society.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enanga who emphasized the protection of the recruitment process, called upon the interested parties to be truthful when presenting academic documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also urged\u00a0 politicians to refrain from politicizing the recruitment drive noting that the recruitment is by rule and merit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll applicants at this level of DPCS and learners AIPS should know that the process is by rule and merit ,therefore those who think that they are going to give bribes or intend to influence the recruitment process through the use of politicians and scrupulous people, intermediary agencies or even police officers should know that it is not allowed,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further warned the general public and anybody who intends on using irregular means to find their way into the system.
