Uganda Muslim Supreme council (UMSC) has called upon the entire Muslim community for the necessary support to claim for the lost Muslim properties that were transferred to the names of individuals without it’s consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur effort is to recover the lost property since some people are vocal about it but we cannot stop because we have the structures and we are doing it for the benefit of the Ummah not personal benefit” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing the media at Old Kampala Mosque on Tuesday, Hajji Ramadthan Mugalu, the UMSC Secretary General said some properties that belonged to the council were released without their acknowledgment and\u00a0consent while others were transferred into individual ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUganda Muslim Supreme council has been in a victim of land and property grabbing by various stakeholders, they know themselves, we shall not mention one by one,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that since colonial era Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has not benefited in land property but they are being accused of stealing and selling Muslim property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince its formation in 1972, UMSC has managed to work hard to\u00a0 lift and protect its\u00a0 property, when the Indians departed some properties were\u00a0 brought under the care of the council but when they came back the repossession was not very clear, so we remained with nothing\u00a0 our effort is to recover the lost property,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said even though some people are vocal about the lost Muslim property, they have decided to move on with effort to recover the lost property for the benefit of the entire Muslim community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also said that by the time the current leadership under Mufti Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje took ove\u00a0 the mantle, all properties were not visible however, they have tried to recover some amid criticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hajji Mugalu called upon the entire Muslims community to join hands as united force for the easy recovery of the lost properties than blaming each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that UMSC will not be overshadowed or stopped from it’s initiative because it intends to help the Muslims claim lost properties. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
