President Yoweri Museveni has commended the\nUS-based Living Water International for setting a good example for others to\nfollow by stepping out to help their Christian neighbours, an act, he said was\nGodly and walking in Jesus\u2019s foot steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAccording to the distribution of your efforts, you\nseem to be in the footsteps of Jesus because He guided us very clearly. We shall\nknow them by their fruits, not what they say but what they do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President was last evening speaking at a\ndinner that he attended at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala to mark the opening\nof a two-day Genius of One Conference organised by Living Water International. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President thanked Living Water International for\nthe good work of providing water to communities saying that what they were\ndoing was pushing the core message of Jesus Christ, which was love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Living Water International is headquartered in Texas,\nUnited States. It is a faith based non-profit organization that helps\ncommunities in developing countries to create sustainable water, sanitation and\nhygiene programmes in response to global water crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Museveni, who was guest of honour, thanked Living\nWater International for their efforts and described them as health living\nthings that start small and later benefit the majority of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am happy to be here with you and to encourage\nyou on what you have achieved. All healthy living things start small but they\ngrow because they have got internal health within and relevant to the people,\u201d\nhe added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He asked the people of Uganda and Africa in\ngeneral to always share their strength such as culture, food, medicine and\nsocial insurance, among others. He said cultural exchanges and sharing\nexperiences will go a long way in creating a way of working together. He\npledged his support to the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quoting the parable of the talents in Chapter 25 in the Gospel of St. Matthew, President Museveni urged Ugandans and Africans in general to fully exploit the talents and opportunities given to them by God adding that man was given dominion over nature which, he noted, they have failed to do resulting in floods, diseases and poverty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He, therefore, called on them to take charge of their environment and exploit their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0Living Water International Uganda Country Director, Mr. Benie K. Mooya, saluted President Museveni celebrating the achievements with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the organisation has seen over 9,000 water points constructed all over Uganda. Established in 1990 and currently operating in 21 countries, Living Water International has completed over 9000 water projects in Uganda that involved drilling new water wells, harvesting water and rehabilitation of non-working wells, among others. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
