The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has applauded the initiators of the Parliament Exhibition for bringing to light the challenges and opportunities concerning technology governance and civic engagement.
Winnie Kiiza, addressing the media, expressed ANT’s dismay at the revelations of severe mismanagement, corruption, and abuse of office by parliamentarians, uncovered by concerned citizens.
“The exhibition has exposed mismanagement of public resources, nepotism, and widespread corruption in the 11th Parliament,” she said.
Kiiza highlighted the allocation of land where the historical Luzira prison sits to a Chinese investor for a hotel as an abuse of power, emphasizing the lack of public consultation in major land use decisions.
She also appreciated the organizers of an online exhibition for exposing corruption and mismanagement within parliament.
Gerald Karuhanga, ANT’s spokesperson, affirmed the party’s commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in Uganda. He emphasized the importance of accountable leadership for the nation’s well-being.
