1 Mins read

Uganda’s Ministry of Health has initiated a comprehensive School Health Awareness campaign directed at adolescents and young individuals, both in and out of school, under the theme “Healthy Habits, Healthy Life.” The campaign aims to disseminate crucial health information, offer career guidance, and advocate for behavioral transformations among this demographic.

Commencing at Bishop Senior School in Mukono on Friday, the campaign unfolded as students engaged in dialogues, expressing their concerns and queries regarding adolescent health. Students delved into discussions encompassing topics like generating income during holidays, shedding light on multifaceted issues relevant to their lives.

The campaign’s primary objective is to counter the widespread social problems arising from detrimental lifestyle choices and promote responsible behavior among youths. It endeavors to equip adolescents with the necessary knowledge and skills vital for making informed decisions concerning their health and well-being.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health aims to provide comprehensive guidance and support to aid adolescents in navigating various aspects of their lives, including health-related concerns and career pursuits.

The initiative is anticipated to extend its reach beyond Bishop Senior School in Mukono, encompassing numerous educational institutions across Uganda. By engaging youths in constructive dialogues and offering pertinent guidance, the Ministry of Health strives to create a positive impact on the lives of adolescents and young people throughout the nation.

As the campaign progresses, the Ministry of Health encourages active participation from educators, parents, and the broader community, recognizing the collective responsibility in nurturing a healthier and more informed generation.

The “Healthy Habits, Healthy Life” campaign stands as a testament to the Ministry of Health’s commitment to proactively address the health and well-being of Uganda’s youth, fostering a culture of informed decision-making and responsible behavior among adolescents.
