Ethiopia’s President Sahle-Work Zewde has extended her warmest congratulations to Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni on the occasion of Uganda’s 61st Independence Day anniversary.
This congratulatory message not only commemorates Uganda’s remarkable journey since gaining independence from Britain but also highlights the deep and warm relations between Ethiopia and Uganda.
It was revealed by Ethiopia’s ambassador to Uganda, H.E Etsegenet Yimenu Bezabih on Twitter.
The ambassador also led a team of embassy officials to attend the national celebrations in Kitgum district, northern Uganda.
The message from President Sahle-Work Zewde also underscored the enduring friendship between Ethiopia and Uganda. Over the years, the two East African nations have fostered strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.
These relations have been characterized by mutual respect and cooperation, contributing to the promotion of peace, stability, and development across the African continent.
A recent milestone in Ethiopia-Uganda relations was President Sahle-Work Zewde’s visit to Uganda for a coffee summit. The visit aimed to deepen economic ties between the two countries, particularly in the coffee industry, which plays a vital role in both nations’ economies.
