Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni will be among the guest speakers when Russia hosts the Primakov Readings in November.
This was revealed by President Museveni following a meeting with a delegation of Russian investors on Monday.
“Maama Janet and I held good discussions with a delegation of investors from Russia led by Mr. Yukhnin Ergeny at Statehouse, Entebbe. I accepted their invitation to virtually participate in the Primakov Readings as a special speaker at the panel discussion on “Russia-Africa: From Program Directives to Practical Results” to be held in Moscow from the 27th to 28th of November this year,” President Museveni wrote on X (former twitter).
Named in honor of the academician and Russian statesman, Yevgeny Primakov, the Primakov Readings is an international summit aimed at promoting dialogue on trends in global politics and economics among high-ranking experts, diplomats and decision-makers.
First Lady Janet Museveni was also part of the meeting and expressed her optimism at the ‘burgeoning ties’ between Kampala and Moscow.
In July, President Museveni was among the African leaders who attended the 2nd Russia-Africa summit in St Petersburg.
