The Joint Uganda Peoples Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of DR Congo (FADRC) have killed three suspected members of the rebel Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in the North Kivu province of DR Congo in their ongoing operation dubbed “Operation Shujaa” in November 2022.

Maj. Bilal Katamba, the Operation Shujja and Mountain Division Spokesperson says that the trio was killed on Monday when the joint forces came across a group of approximately 10-15 suspected ADF militants in the areas of Talia and Tingwe.

A combat engagement ensued, resulting in the elimination of three rebels on the spot and the recovery of seven firearms, three improvised explosive devices, and other important gadgets.

Last month, the joint forces apprehended 14 female rebels affiliated with the ADF group in the Mwalika Valley of North Kivu province. During the operation, the joint forces encountered the ADF group, under the leadership of Abu Waqas.
