40-Year-Old Man Attempts To Rape Own Sister, Village Leaders Cane Him 27 Strong Strokes, Cries Like A Baby

Butsebeni cell of Bubutu town council in Namisindwa district witnessed a bizarre drama: a 40-year-old man was accused and sentenced to 27 strokes of the cane after allegedly attempting to rape his younger sister.

The accused is a resident of Butsebeni cell, Bumalanga ward, Bubutu town council in Namisindwa district.

According to eyewitnesses, the attempted incestuous rape occurred on Sunday night during the funeral vigil of a mentally deranged 22-year-old man who had in turn been lynched last week by the angry congregation of Isaa Masiya church after he was accused of murdering their pastor, 93-year-old John Wamoto and injured 81-year-old Agatha Nambuya during healing prayers.

The eyewitnesses say the man took advantage of the madman’s vigil to lure his sister into a nearby banana plantation but being faced with rape, she made an alarm which attracted mourners who came and saved her though the assailant had already torn all her clothes.

Sam Muggawu the publicity sectary of the Buwambwa-Butsebeni clan says that on Monday morning, they summoned the man to the clan court where they administered 40 strokes as punishment.

Muggawu warned his fellow clan members to desist from getting involved in incest, saying it is against African culture.
