Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has earned praise in the country and beyond for signing the Anti-Homosexuality Law

There has been an outpouring of support for Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after he signed the Anti-Homosexuality Bill into law.

Early this week, the Speaker of Parliament, revealed that President Museveni had assented to the Bill, making it law, sending multitudes in the country and beyond into frenzied celebrations.

Ugandans across the political divide have united in support of the President’s action, with analysts saying he is most likely to have a walkover in the next election if he chooses to contest.

It should be noted that parliament united in voting for the bill overwhelmingly with the leader of the opposition personally defending its content.

On Wednesday, Ugandans took to the streets of the capital Kampala in their droves to show solidarity with the President and the signed law.

It is not only in Uganda but across Africa and world that many are celebrating President Museveni’s boldness in choosing to uphold a high standard of morality against foreign cultural influence.

Western news platforms on social media have been met with praises for President Museveni despite their narrative against Uganda.
