“Treat People With Dignity,” – ONC Boss Hadijah Namyalo Says At Serere Rally

The Special Presidential Advisor and Head of the Office of the National Chairman of NRM, has called on party members to treat their fellows with dignity.

Ms. Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye was speaking on the sidelines of the political rally in Serere District on Tuesday.

President Yoweri Museveni graced the occasion as Philip Oucor made one of his final rallies ahead of the Thursday by-election.

“The president has made it clear that everyone in the party is equal. Let us learn to treat each other with respect. It is bad to treat people with disdain just because of the status they hold in society,” Hadijah said before adding, “It those people you look at as nobodies that form the stronghold of President Museveni’s support base.”

Ms. Hadijah also revealed that it was this idea that prompted the President to send her to look out for those who appear to be the marginalised of society, to uplift them.

“He sent us to the poor to help improve their livelihoods. We can only do it through dignity and by showing respect to them,” she said.

The ONC recently flagged off a group regional coordinators to help in monitoring and implementing government programs.

They were commissioned by Ms Hadijah under the direction of Presisent Museveni.

At the Tuesday rally, the president reiterated the need for the same mission, singling out monitoring of sectors like education.

“Head teachers in government schools should lift any form of fees because it discourages many children of the poor from accessing education. If the money given them is not enough, we should be asked to look for more money,” Museveni said.

He also asked leaders to fight poverty in households through projects like Parish development model (PDM) and Emyooga.

“We recently sent PDM money to all parishes. This money is your parish Bank. We don’t want it paid back to government. We want the parish to allow you borrow, use it for agriculture and pay back,” Museveni said.

The NRM flagbearer, Philip Oucor praised president Museveni for coming to campaign for him, “I sincerely appreciate your guidance and hard work towards improvement of people’s livelihoods.”

He also mentioned a host of people including Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye and her ONC team for helping in the rallying of support in Serere.
