UPDF Deserter Strangled to Death After Failing to Clear Alcohol Bill

1 Mins read

Police in Amudat district is holding three suspects in connection to the strangulation of a UPDF deserter to death for allegedly failing to clear her bar bill.

The deceased has been identified as Lorisa Cheporoke who met her death on Sunday night in Multasukan village, Loppedot parish, Abilyep Sub-county in Amudat district.

Micheal Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional police spokesperson explains that “the deceased went to a bar within the village to drink and left without clearing the bills, prompting the son of the bar owner to follow and strangled her to death.”

Longole says that police visited the scene and a postmortem was done. He says that three suspects including the son of the bar owner are in Police custody to help in further investigations.

Peter Ruto, a resident of Multasukan village, says that the deceased never had any wrangles with the people in the village and wonders why she was killed in such a manner.

:To me, may she just forgot to pay not that she refused to pay because the much I know about the deceased is that she is someone who is not interested in free things,” he said.

He said the deceased served in UPDF for eight years but left in 2017 due to unclear reasons and has been living with her relatives peacefully.
