A teenager in Kamuli municipality has bled to death after being stabbed by an unknown assailant.

Thirteen-year-oldĀ Annet Namboira, a resident of Bulondo village in Southern division met her death on Monday night when an unknown assailant stabbed her in the stomach and left her to die.

Her guardians discovered her lifeless body lying Tuesday morning when they checked her room after realizing that she had delayed waking up.  Police took the body to Kamuli general hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

George Byantuyo, one of the guardians explains that Namboira has been a very active girl who would wake up early morning to prepare breakfast for the rest of the family.Ā Ā 

“We took on Namboira as our house help after realizing how she was struggling to fend for her life along the streets of Kamuli town and she has been a proactive young girl,” he said.

Charles Bamwise, the area LC 1 chairperson says that such criminal activities are a sign of the security lax in their community. He has implored police to step up mobile patrols to help weed out suspected criminal gangs in the entire Kamuli municipality.

The Busoga North Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, says that they are liaising with their counterparts in theĀ neighboring districts to find the killers.

He has also called on the community to step up vigilance in theirĀ homes to deter criminals from accessing them.
