Man Wanted For Stabbing Wife To Death

A man in Agago district is on the run for allegedly stabbing his wife to death. The suspect has only been identified as Adyere, a resident of Logia village, Atut Parish, Kuywee sub-county Agago district.

He is wanted for stabbing his wife, 24-year-old, Lucy Angom five times following an argument.  

Benson Ocan, the LC 3 chairperson of Kuywee Sub-county, says that the suspect was drunk when he picked up a quarrel with his wife, which led to the tragic incident.   

Kalongo Police station has opened inquiries vide CRB 7/7/6/2022.    

He appealed to development partners working to prevent gender-based violence to help in sensitizing the communities on gender-based violence to reduce such cases. 

According to the 2021 Police Crime Report, Agago is ranked among the top 10 districts with the highest rate of domestic violence in 2021. 

It registered 324 cases out of the 17,533 cases of domestic violence reported. James Oryema, the LC 3 chairperson of Agago Town Council blamed the high levels of alcohol consumption in the district for the increased cases of domestic violence.
