Police have recovered the body of a 16-year-old girl in Kibaale town council in Kibaale district. Esther Adeke Tumusiime, the Kibaale district police commander has identified the deceased as Bridget Wamaani, a daughter to John Kumalirwaki of Busana cell in Kibaale town council.
Adeke says that preliminary investigations show that the deceased was gang-raped on Sunday night before she was killed. She has urged the general public to provide information to the police to help with investigations into the gruesome murder.
Robert Senyonyi, the LC I Chairperson of Rukinda village, says that they received information about the incident from Fr. John Mary Kitone Kabyanga, the Bujuni catholic parish priest on Monday morning.
The deceased’s father, John Kumalirwaki told our reporter that his daughter went to Karuguza Market on Sunday but did not return. He says that they only received information that she had been found dead along Kibaale-Karuguuza road near Bujuni catholic parish in RuKikinda cell Kibaale town council.
The deceased is lying at Kibaale Health centre IV pending postmortem.
