Kyambogo University Fires Unvaccinated Students

1 Mins read

Unvaccinated students at Kyambogo University have today been barred from entering the university premises.

Universities and other tertiary institutions are slated to reopen today after four months closure by government over Covid-19.

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) last month issued guidelines for reopening and stated that the institutions should reopen in a staggered manner while prioritising first year students.

As a result, a number of institutions have come up with reopening programmes, indicating which category of students will report today physically on campus, and which group will continue studying online.

It should be noted that, Uganda is targeting to vaccinate over 5million people by January 2021.

In his recent speech, president Museveni said that come January 2022, the economy will be fully opened whether people are vaccinated or not.

As of now, 3,084,483 doses of COVID 19 Vaccine have been administered.
