Court Nullifies Museveni Victory

1 Mins read

Buwekula South Constituency Member of Parliament, William Museveni Ndooli has been thrown out of parliament by Mubende High Court, Ug Mirror reports.

William Museveni is shedding tears after he lost a petition filed by Fred Tumwesigye who had contested on the NRM ticket.

The nullification of the election was based on the sufficient evidence of multiple voting.

Justice Eva Luswata’s ruling also revealed that Electoral Commission failed to play its role in ensuring a free and fair election, as guided in the Constitution hence the multiple voting.

It also revealed that court found not enough evidence pining Mr William Museveni Ndooli for his involvement in bribing voters and conniving with security personnel to threaten voters.

High Court in Mubende therefore ordered for fresh elections and the Electoral Commission to pay Fred Tumwesigye the petition costs.

It is worth noting that; Mubende returning officer Ms Christine Kunuhira on January 15 declared Mr Ndooli as the duly elected MP of Buwekula South Constituency with 8185 votes, in a hotly contested election where Fred Tumwesigye came second 7479 votes
