Ministry of Health Uganda has kicked off a massive COVID 19 vaccination exercise in the central business district that covers districts of Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso.

Ministry of health has set up designated places where vaccination will be taking place.

“The Ministry of Health and partners will conduct a one-week accelerated vaccination campaign against COVID-19 from Monday 27 September to Friday 3 October 2021 starting 8:30am in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono,” reads the tweet on ministry of Health timeline.

The other tweets further explained how the doses will be administered.

“The vaccination campaign will be carried out using AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines and later Sinovac as follows;

1) All persons starting the vaccination will receive Pfizer vaccine as their first dose and their second dose of Pfizer after one month (4 weeks)

2) All persons who started with AstraZeneca and are due for their second dose will be given AstraZeneca in the same locations.

3) Persons who started vaccination with Sinovac and are due for second dose will be informed shortly on the date to turn up.

The Ministry of Health does NOT advise the public to mix vaccines nor receive a booster dose. Since there is limited information on the effects of MIXING vaccine types, every client MUST receive the same type of vaccine as both their first and second dose.
