BUMPER HARVEST! CID Detectives Recover Shs600m Cash Loot From UPPC Officials

Detectives at Criminal Investigarions Department (CID) have recovered Shs600M from individuala of Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC).

According to CID spokesperson, Charles Twiine, the money which was destined for another accomplice in crime, was part of the Shs3Bn loot that had passed through an account of a fictitious Commission agent.

The development comes a week after Presidency Minister, Milly Babalanda, interdicted the Managing Director, Board, Company Secretary and Internal Auditor of UPPC to pave way for investigations into allegations of Corruption and other irregularities.

Mr. James Tweheyo has been appointed as caretaker MD.

Commenting on the cash recovery, Babalanda said, “The decision to interdict top managers of UPPC to pave way for investigations was correct. We shall get to the root of the problem.”
