Details Of Suicide Bomber At Lokech Burial Leak

The details of the suspected bomber who was arrested by CMI in Pader District have leaked, Ug Mirror reports.

The suspect has been identified as Katumba Abdul famously known as Ben according to a press release by UPDF spokesperson, Brig Flavia Byekwaso.

The suspect was also found with bomb making materials.

SUSPECTED SUICIDE BOMBER ARRESTED IN PADER

Following an intelligence led operation on the afternoon of Thursday 26 August 2021, a suspected suicide bomber, identified as Katumba Abdul aka Ben was arrested by joint security forces at Mikicha Guest House, along Canigula Road in Pader Town Council.

The suspect was found with an assortment of home bomb making materials, including the following:

  1. Assembled homemade bombs
  2. Bomb carrier bags
  3. Ball bearings
  4. Suicide vests
  5. Detonators
  6. Ammonium Sulphate
  7. Wire cutters
  8. Switches
  9. Mobile phones used to detonate the bombs

Investigations so far indicate that the suspect had intent of disrupting the funeral proceedings the of Late Maj Gen Paul Lokech.

Other accomplices in the heinous crime are still at large but have been positively identified and operations to apprehend them are underway.

The joint security forces are in control of the situation and the public is therefore urged to remain calm.
