COVIDEX IMPACT?: Cases Reduce, Recoveries Shoot Up Week After Wonder Drug Was Approved

1 Mins read

Uganda is registering massive successes in her fight against the second wave of coronavirus.

This week, the Health Ministry has reported high numbers among those recovering from COVID19, while at the same time the daily positive cases have reduced.

All this comes a week after the National Drug Authority (NDA), authorised the use of herbal remedy, COVIDEX, as supportive treatment for the virus, now fueled by the delta variant first detected in India.

On Wednesday, the reported deaths were 17, a steep fall from between 37 to 50 where the numbers had stagnated.

Many are now wondering whether the wonder drug use explains this phenomenon.

Before it was authorised, there were testimonies that it was working wonders for patients.

It’s founder, Prof Patrick Ogwang, in an interview, revealed that he gave it to some people who were already in ICU but they got better.

He added that President Yoweri Museveni, called him and all the patients the drug had treated, with all giving him positive news about the remedy.

COVIDEX is now one of the most sought after items in Uganda with most pharmacies saying they are out of stock.
