Minister Kadaga No Show As Cabinet Takes Oath

1 Mins read

Former Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, was conspicuously missing as cabinet members took Oath on Monday.

Kadaga was recently appointed first Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Minister for East African Community Affairs.

However, her seat at the ceremony was vacant.

There are conflicting reports about why she was missing with some saying she could have missed because she was a contact of a COVID-19 person although there is no official communication on this.

Last week, Kadaga attended the vetting of ministers via zoom.

Priot to being appointed to cabinet, Kadaga served as Deputy and Speaker or Parliament for 20 years.

She was replaced by Jacob Oulanyah as speaker in a vote that he won with a landslide.
