President Yoweri Museveni has urged his new members of cabinet to be patriotic in their service to Uganda.

Museveni made the call on Monday as ministers took Oath of office.

The President has five key targets for his cabinet in his new term of office. These are: to ensure cohesion, fight corruption, promote the integration of the East African Community, Patriotism and efficient service delivery.

Museveni emphasised that the new cabinet should work for patriotism adding that no one should be in a public office if they do not have love for their country. “We don’t want parasites in public service.”

He also instructed the newly formed Cabinet to solve the issue of Ugandans working from hand to mouth.

Museveni says the ministers must devise means of ensuring all Ugandans join the money economy.
