Together they work to empower women and youth. Through mentorship, business training, Executive coaching and motivational talks, they inspire them to find livelihood options.
Through her Ashlie Watson Foundation, she also advocates for issues pertaining to Mental health, overall health, and reaching out to feed the homeless.
During the recent pandemic, she was an essential worker when Covid 19 hit. She saw first-hand how the virus effected people’s lives; not just financially but also mentally.
Suicide & depression rates drastically rose, among especially the youth. And as such being a young woman who struggled with both, she has hatched a platform where she can give hope, especially the young. She feels their voices are not heard.
“Mental health has always been stigmatized. And I would therefore like to talk about my own battles and how I overcame them. My key tool to overcome mental health issues has been through my faith in God, Fitness, and chasing my dreams” She says.
Considering the outrageous criminal cases like the one which involved George Floyd (rip); as a law student she’d like to also crusade for equality.
“I believe in celebrating all heritage and race, to help people embrace their identity. Teaching the world that no matter where you come from, we are all the same”
In the same light, she has written a poem titled “Black Girl”
