WAR CHEST: Kadaga Splashes Shs7billions To Campaign Team As Oulanyah Leads Opinion Polls

1 Mins read

Former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has thrown in all in an attempt to reclaim her position.

Sources day yesterday she removed 7billions that she had stashed in her House and handed it over to five of her confidants who are to use it for final attempt.

They have instructions to give it out to MPs at last minute to sway them to vote for her.

MPs Elijah Okupa , Maurice Kibalya , Mariam Naigaga, Paul Akamba and Brandon Kintu are confidants who have been tasked to reach out to MPs individually.

They are being assistant by Kadaga’s political mobilizers with a one Joel from Kamuli calling all Busoga MPs.

Sources say Okupa is carrying an estimated shs2bn to be used for Teso and Karamoja where Kadaga sees complications.

Okupa is directly approaching supporters of Anite Among who is vying for deputy Speaker.
He is also tasked to reach out sections of the northern MPs.

Naigaga is spending sleepless nights and has been tasked to directly pay women MPs.

Sources said it’s the reason behind Kadaga’s cry that the matter should not be resolved at CEC . She wants to pay at least 300 MPs.

An insider said MPs are given different amounts of money depending on what Kadaga’s describe as their desperation for money.

“She even detailed one of her nephews to keep following up, “ an insider.

Apparently Kadaga has trusted the MPs after she allegedly gave NRM bosses at the secretariat Shs700m each to bribe CEC members but it has not worked.

“CEC is still hostile to us. Mama believes these people ate the money. They are the only votes we have in CEC,” the insider said.

CEC sits tomorrow ( Saturday) and Kadaga has vowed to destabilize the meeting and force them not to take any decision.
