“BETRAYAL IN THE CITY:” Aber Tight-lipped As Her Name Appears On Pro-Kadaga List

Kitgum Woman MP Lilian Aber

At a time when most of her colleague from northern Uganda are supporting their own, Kitgum Woman MP, Lilian Aber has chosen the opposite.

Aber who was sworn-in on Monday, has appeared on a list compiled by a little known website, for lawmakers purportedly supporting former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga as the race for the job heats up.

The race pits Kadaga against favourite to win, Jacob Oulanyah.

Sources reveal that Aber took her friends by surprise when her name appeared on the list when they expected her to support Oulanyah, who is also Omoro County MP, in Northern Uganda.

“All along we thought she was with us on the same team only to see her name on that list,” a close pal of Aber who is also MP, intimated to us on condition of anonymity.

Sources add that she is also trying to woo other lawmakers to the Kadaga camp that is said to have heavily invested in convincing supporters.

Efforts to get a comment from Aber on the matter were futile by the time we published this story.

The CEC is also expected to sit this weekend to vet the candidates before a flag bearer is chosen to vie for the post on Monday.

On Sunday, the NRM Parliamentary caucus, will sit to endorse the name submitted by the CEC.

Oulanyah is favourite to win the race with an opinion poll published on Thursday, giving him the lead (44%) against former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga (27%).
