“TULUMBIDWA!”: Fury As Kadaga Slams Cattle Keepers In Attempt To Explain Why She Needs Speaker Job

1 Mins read

There is an outpouring of anger on social media after former Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, appeared to attacked cattle keepers.

A local news website quotes Kadaga saying the speakership is not like herding cattle, something people who treasure their cows, see as a direct and demeaning attack on them.

“So you can’t come and say for us [CEC] we decided on the speakership five years ago. Are you deciding for us like the way cattle is herded?” Kadaga asked.

Many Ugandans who hail from the western part of the country where cattle keeping is a treasure, have been pouring out their feelings on social media accusing the former Speaker of demeaning their longlife preoccupation.

The country’s President Yoweri Museveni arguably Uganda’s most prominent rancher and some feel the comments are directed at him.
