Museveni Condoles With Media Fraternity Over ‘Mysterious’ Death Of Journalist Kagolo

President Yoweri Museveni has condoled with the media fraternity upon the death of former UJA President and UBC Editor Robert Kagolo.

This was revealed by his Press Secretary Lindah Nabusayi.

She also revealed that government has made a contribution of Shs15m to the family and taken over all burial expenses.

“President Museveni has condoled with the media fraternity upon the mysterious death of former UJA Prez and UBC editor Robert Kagolo. Govt has made a contribution of Shs 15m to the family and taken over all burial expenses,” Nabusayi tweeted,

Kagolo was shot and killed at Bugembejembe village in Wakiso , on Thursday at around 8pm .

It is alleged, that, while Robert Kagolo was returning from the village after his brother’s burial , he hurriedly entered the late’s home which was being guarded by LDU personnel after he suspected that some people were following him and he knocked the gate with his motor vehicle while gaining entrance .

It is from there that a dis agreement between him and two LDU personnel who were guarding the home started , unfortunately the disagreement led to a shooting of which the circumstances are being investigated , the victim was later rushed to ST Joseph Hospital Waskiso where he succumbed to the injuries sustained .

The shooter has been identified as Mamuli Rashid .

And upon getting the information , a joint team of Police and LDU command responded to the scene and managed to arrest Rahid and his colleague.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
