President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday met with Uganda Police officers at State House Entebbe.

Museveni who tweeted about the meeting said he warned them against engaging in corruption saying the practice must stop in the force.

“Met senior police officers led by Deputy IGP, Gen Paul Loketch, at State House Entebbe. I have strongly warned them against involvement in corrupt practices. Corruption in the Police Force should stop,” Museveni said.

He added, “The police should heed my earlier communication on proper methods of arresting suspects, handling citizens and foreign guests. Do not harass, beat, push or bark at wanainchi for whatever reason.”

Last week, the president also met members of the Military Police at the same venue.

He also urged the police officers to make sure no one threatens the lives and properties of Ugandans.

“For retrogressive groups and hostile crowds, the security organs are guided by the legitimate means of the security forces on how to handle them. Do not let anybody threaten lives and property of Ugandans,” Museveni said.
